Scraps of time

By collecting mementoes and thereby rendering time into substance, a history is created so I can see who I am when I forget. Mementoes crack and age like us, but they resist time eating them to stay as vigilant proof that we were here once. Time, of little consequence since there is so much of it around. For a while.

Cabinets A, B & C

CABINET A
Lace and embroidered trimmings. Ornamentation used to enhance the female attire. Worn when then was now – for someone.

CABINET B
Embroidered glass bead trimmings. Once belonging to a dress cut from the night.

Cabinet C
Mother of pearl buttons. Nature made culture in objects wringed from the wet belly of the ocean, – still retaining residue of inverted light.
